Physical: Physical self-care is focused in your physical well-being. Things might include diet and exercise. Or it could be as simple as taking a nap when you need to rest. Physical activity also helps to blow off some steam. This area of self-care is also about making sure that you are getting your 7-9hours sleep.

Emotional: Emotional self-care is taking care of your emotional needs. Identify what you are feeling and how you can move forward. This area of self-care is about becoming more aware of our thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

Spiritual: Spiritual self-care is an activity we engage in to find and nurture a sense of connection to a Higher Power and deeper meaning for our lives. Spiritual self-care is about getting in touch with your values and what really matters to you.

Professional: Professional self-care is focused on your work. Professional self-care is practicing self-care while at work, and adopting self-care practices that lead to a healthy work-life balance. This is learning to say no and not to bring your work home with you. This is a really important area.

Mental: Mental self-care is taking care and making sure you are mentally healthy. Focusing on keeping a healthy and positive inner dialogue. This can be achieved by practicing self-compassion and acceptance. This area of self-care influences our psychological well-being. Mental self-care is also making sure that we are keeping out minds sharpe.

Social: Social self-care can easily get forgotten when life gets busy, but it is important to nurture our friendships and relationships with others. Everyone has different social needs whether you are an extrovert or introvert, and it is important to learn what your social needs. For a large diversity people connecting with other people is necessary for happiness.

Sensory: Sensory self-care is about getting in touch your surroundings. This area of self-care helps you to learn how to clam your mind and to present.

Goals VS Resolution.

Goals VS Resolutions.

At the start of the year there is always talk about setting New Years resolutions. Why do we feel this pressure to change only at the start of the year? We often don’t achieve that resolution and feel like we have failed. But what if there’s a more effective way to approach personal growth?

New year, new me. Why do we alway have to change. You don’t need to reinvent yourself every January. Change the thought to improve don’t fix. Think of personal growth as a way to enhance your life. Make sure that the change is coming form self-love and a desire to grow rather than a place of dissatisfaction.

Why do we need New Years resolutions. We often set a resolutions that we don’t care about. We set them cause we feel we have to. New years resolutions are often set out of obligation rather than passion. There is no passion or drive to achieve the resolution. This is how you end up with resolutions laking meaning and drive and the commitment needed to succeed.

Let’s explore the difference between resolutions and goals and how choosing the right approach can set you up for success.

Resolution also gives the impression that we need to fix something. A better way to look at this is to improve an aspect of your life. This doesn’t have to be personal, but something general in life. Resolutions are typically broad statements of intent, often made with enthusiasm but lacking a plan. While new years resolutions are positive aspirations, resolutions often fail because they rely on willpower alone, without a clear roadmap or actionable steps.

Why not set a goal for each month that build on each other. Break the pressure down. Goals break down the big ideas into manageable steps, creating a framework for progress. Goals encourage accountability and provide a way to track your journey.

We need goals/ steps to how we can achieve this new year resolution. Break the resolution into smaller goals. Something that is achievable. When you break the resolution into small goals it helps to make them more manageable and achievable. Therefore setting ourselves up for success. Also in having smaller goals it helps to reduce the pressure and creates momentum.

Don’t make a goal that you feel that others want you to achieve or something that doesn’t mean anything to you. It has to be important for you to work towards. Choose a goal that excites you, lights you up, what would you be proud to achieve. What is your reason for wanting to achieve this goal in doing this it helps to create passion and perseverance.

Let’s make this year a celebration of progress, not perfection.

Love your body.

Self-care. Time to recharge.

Self-Care … Why do we need it???

“Self-Care is personal, and no general principle will always work.”

Self-care is about maintaining a good relationship with yourself. Self-care helps us to have positive feels towards ourselves which in turn improves our confidence and self-esteem too. It is said that self-care can make us more effective and have more energy.

Lets give ourselves permission to press PASUE for a few minutes. To reset, recentre, refocus ourselves. Self-care does not need to take a long time it can be short and sweet. Just enough to recentre you and make you feel refreshed.

When we practise self-care it reminds ourselves and others that we have needs to and they are important. That our self-care is a priority in which everyone will benefit from. Taking care of ourselves is our responsibility. It is up to us to make the time that we need to be the best version of ourselves. It is about making time for something that you enjoy, something that to your life.

Self-care is an important aspect of stress management. When we are feeling our best emotionally and physically we can handle anything that life throws at us.

Self-care requires us to really think about what you love to do. Through working out what inspires you and what you have a passion for helps you to understand yourself better. You never know what you might discover about yourself. A new passion or a long lost hobby… This new self-discovery might lead to big life decisions/changes. Lets find what feds our soul.

Through practicing self-care you are helping to prevent burnout or being overworked. Lets enjoy life. Self-care is about recharging our batteries, so we are able to keep going. We all need to recharge our batteries. You can’t work on empty, like your phone can’t work with no charge. Our battery life is just as important as our phones.

No one can tell you how to practice self-care. Self-care looks different for everyone. We all enjoy different things. We all have different passions. We are not all the same therefore self-care will not be the same for all.

By practicing regular self-care you are forming healthy habits and routines. It is keeping you on track. Self-care is helping you to build a life worth living.

“Everyone is worthy of self-care.”

“Just remember that if you are not taking care of yourself, how are you meant to care for others.”

Self-Care… What is it???

“Something that refuels us, rather than takes from us.”

What is self-care? What does self-care mean to you?

Now more than ever it is important to look after ourselves. Self-care is looking after yourself inside and out. Self-care has the aim to preserve or improve one’s own health. Self-care is an activity we do deliberately in order to take care of our mental, emotional, and physical health. It’s time to take an active role in our own self-care to protect our own well-being and happiness, in particular during periods of stress. Lets put ourselves first. It is almost like we have to give ourselves permission to look after ourselves.

Self-care is different to everyone. It means different things to everyone. Self-care looks different to everyone. Self-care is very individual. What feeds your soul, makes you happy or relaxes you. What helps your emotional well-being. It is important to know what works for you. What does your self-care look like. The main thing is that the self-care activity is something that brings you joy and refuels you.

Self-care may seem simple but why don’t we make time for it. It is often the first thing to go when we are busy with daily life. But in fact we need self-care to look after our own mental, emotional and physical health. Self-care is not selfish it is something that we need to get used to and accept.

Lets work towards making self-care a priority.

Lets put ourselves first.

What do you do for self-care?
