What does self-care mean to you?
Now more than ever it is important to look after ourselves. Self-care is looking after yourself inside and out. Self-care has the aim to preserve or improve one’s own health. Self-care is an activity we do deliberately in order to take care of our mental, emotional, and physical health. It’s time to take an active role in our own self-care to protect our own well-being and happiness, in particular during periods of stress. Lets put ourselves first. It is almost like we have to give ourselves permission to look after ourselves.
Self-care is different to everyone. It means different things to everyone. Self-care looks different to everyone. Self-care is very individual. What feeds your soul. What makes you happy. What relaxes you. What helps your emotional well-being. It is important to know what works for you. What does your self-care look like.
Self-care may seem simple but why don’t we make time for it. It is often the first thing to give when we are busy with daily life. But in fact we need self-care to look after our own mental, emotional and physical health. Self-care is not selfish it is something that we need to get used to and accept.
Lets work towards making self-care a priority.
